Guest Speaker - WWII Vet

A very special thank you to Mr. Elkin for taking the time to speak with our 10th Grade Global II students on April 8th.  Mr. Elkin served our country fighting on the Pacific Front in World War II.  Thank you for your service and Tioga Central appreciates the time you spent with our students.
CPR Instruction

The New York State Board of Regents is finalizing the adoption of a proposal to mandate CPR instruction as a graduation requirement starting in the 2016-17 school year.  The adoption will require each student to learn and practice “Hands Only CPR” one time during high school to be eligible to graduate.

The Tioga Central Physical Education department has been extremely proactive and has initiated the program this year as an addition to their yearly curriculum.  With the help of Michael Taylor, who serves as the Deputy Director of Administration-Community Outreach in the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad, all students in grades 9-12 received instruction in Hands Only CPR this week.  Although the state only requires this instruction once throughout high school, Tioga will be running this course annually to hone this valuable skill.
